$500 LOCAL SCHOLARSHIP! $4,000 INTERNATIONAL SCHOLARSHIP!

Padgett knows that owning and operating a small business can present you with tough financial choices. That's why we began the Padgett Business Services Foundation, which since 1990 has awarded over $500,000 in scholarships to dependents of small business owners.

To be eligible for the Padgett Scholarship, an applicant must:

Be a dependent of a small business owner who employs fewer than 20 individuals, owns at least 10% of the stock or capital of the business, and is active in the day-to-day operations of the organization.
Be a graduating high school senior planning to attend an accredited post-secondary institution.

Get an application by contacting Padgett Business Services of Harrisonburg. Applicants will be required to verify their grade point average, their test scores, and information concerning their parents' or guardians' businesses. Also, each applicant must write a 100-word essay describing his or her educational and career plans. Completed applications are to be postmarked and mailed to Padgett Business Services by March 1.

Each application will be judged by an independent scholarship committee. Local winners will be announced in May. Each $500 scholarship will be presented at a local awards ceremony. All winners will be eligible for one international $4,000 scholarship, which will be announced and presented in June.
